The Polytechnic University of The Philippines – Taguig Alumni Association, Inc. (PUPTAAI) approved the first official ball games for alumni last 16th of March, 2017.

Engr. Reginald Raquiza, class of 2010, proposed the said program to the Board in line with the celebration of PUP Taguig’s 25th Founding Anniversary, happening on August to September, 2017. The sports league is intended to build camaraderie amongst the playing teams and members, and to raise fund for the benefit not only of the alumni association but for the university, as well.

The league will be comprised by twenty alumni teams for basketball and some unidentified number of alumni teams for volleyball.

According to Engr. Raquiza as the head of the organizing committee, these ball games will surely promote profound unity and stronger connection between the university and alumni as a whole. “Napaka-positibo ng mga responses na nakukuha ko from my contactsSome of them are from old batches. They really wanted to play. Siyempre, ika nga, ‘ball is life'”, he added.

Game orientation happened last 1st of April, 2017 and the team schedule of games will still be determined by the organizing committee. Posting of payments for league fees and filing of paper works by the participating teams shall be accomplished on or before the 30th of April, 2017.

The opening ceremony for the league is scheduled on 13th of May, 2017 with two games playing in the afternoon. The duration of the ball games is set every weekends, alternating Saturdays and Sundays for basketball and volleyball games, and is expected to run until August 2017.
